For their patients, the expectation of strong interpersonal skills is high, and legitimately so. Yet in that aspect, their training has not necessarily prepared them enough. We Care & + Consulting supports them throughout the constructive and positive journey that their relationship with their patients can be.”

A training programme from theory to practice.
Training takes place over one or two days for a group of around 15 healthcare professionals. The first part is filmed and is dedicated to recreating the delivery of sensitive news to patients. In order to be as close as possible to a real life situation, the scenario is implemented with the support of a nurse specialized in this practice. Unfolding in a convivial environment, this part focuses on learning about "the self" and its relationship with "the other", in this case, the patient. The conversations that follow these video workshops allow participants to decrypt their behaviour and profit from this experience to better comprehend the relationships that they build with their patients. A second component is dedicated to the theoretical understanding of various facets of human communication as well as the challenges that arise during medical consultations. The objective is that each participant leaves with a custom toolbox as well as a personal plan of action.

“For almost 15 years, I have focused my professional efforts on the healthcare industry and more specifically, oncology. I have always been passionate about my experience in the pharmaceutical industry, notably by research in new treatments against cancer and their introduction to the market. Within that context, I’ve stood alongside several healthcare professionals (oncologists, pharmacist, nurses, clinical researchers, resident doctors, etc.). They were dedicated to their cause, but at times struggled to deal with their profession’s constant evolution and the impact of the personal interactions they had with their patients, colleagues and their ever-changing environment.
Motivated by these observations, I decided to create We Care & + Consulting in October 2015 with the aim of leading this double mission alongside healthcare organisations, companies and professionals.”
